The difference

Why wait months
for a tooth?

Older cylindrical screw-type implants need healing periods of four to six months before the bone attaches firmly enough to carry a working crown. Ultratooth doesn't.

Ultratooth allows the bone healing process to happen while the tooth is already in full function — rather than making you wait for it.

The Ultratooth

Benefits.

The advantages that come from one idea: an implant that grips the moment it is placed.

01

Immediate tooth replacement

Ultratooth™ is the only FDA-cleared immediate-load implant that is fully functional at the time of placement.

02

No down time

Because of the expansion feature, patients are able to eat regularly immediately after placement.

03

Increases bone quality

Bone quality actually improves around the Ultratooth™, thanks to the expansion feature of the device.

04

Long-lasting result

Ultratooth™ is one of the only implantable dental devices with a positive thirty-year clinical history.

How we do it

It grips the
moment it's placed.

A traditional implant is a screw. It holds only by friction at first, which is why you wait months before it can carry a tooth.

Ultratooth is engineered differently. Once it is seated, your dentist activates a unique expansion feature that opens the base of the implant outward into the surrounding bone. That achieves maximum stability and immediate fixation — even in the softer bone of the jaw — so the tooth can be put straight into function.

Under normal circumstances an Ultratooth can be placed directly into the socket of the tooth being removed. That eliminates the need for invasive additional surgery and for separate bone grafting with its own healing time. Typically a crown can be placed the same day as the extraction, so you leave with a natural, fully functional tooth.

Your Ultratooth

What it means
for you.

You can improve the quality of your life in a single, brief dental appointment. If a dental problem is stopping you from smiling, laughing or eating out comfortably, this is what changes.

  • 01

A fully functional tooth on the day of placement

Not a placeholder. A tooth you can eat with.

  • 02

Replace a tooth in one visit

Extraction, implant and crown handled in a single appointment in most cases.

  • 03

    No more additional healing periods

The healing happens while you're already using the tooth.

  • 04

No awkward or embarrassing removable dentures

Nothing to take out, nothing to hide, no gap in your smile while you wait.

  • 05

Fewer surgeries, less cost, less time off

Avoiding staged grafting and repeat procedures means fewer days arranged around the dentist.

The result

A tooth that
looks like yours.

Because the implant is placed into the existing socket and supports the natural shape of the tooth it replaces, the finished result sits where your own tooth did.

Common questions

Straight answers.

Will I really leave with a tooth?

That's the point of the system. Under normal circumstances the implant goes into the socket of the tooth being removed and a crown is placed the same day, so you leave the office with a natural-looking, fully functional tooth rather than a gap or a temporary plate.

Where your provider has chairside milling, that can be the permanent crown — designed, milled and cemented at the same appointment — not a temporary to be swapped out later.

How long does the appointment take?

A single-tooth case typically takes about an hour — extraction, implant placement and crown in one sitting. Compare that with a conventional implant, which spreads a similar amount of chair time across several appointments and four to six months.

Can I eat normally afterwards?

Yes. Because the expansion feature creates stability immediately, patients are able to eat regularly right after placement, rather than waiting for the bone to attach.

Do I need a bone graft first?

Usually not as a separate procedure. Placing the implant straight into the extraction socket avoids much of the bone loss that follows an extraction, and where grafting is needed it is done at the same appointment as placement — not as another surgery with its own healing period.

How is this different from the implant my friend had?

Most implants are cylindrical screws that rely on months of bone growth for strength. Ultratooth adds an expansion mechanism that locks into the bone during the procedure, so the tooth can be used straight away and the bone heals around a tooth that is already working.

How long will it last?

Ultratooth is one of the only implantable dental devices with a positive thirty-year clinical history. It is designed as a long-term tooth replacement, and your provider can talk you through what to expect in your case.

Who makes it?

Biodent Inc., in the United States. The implant is machined from titanium alloy, supplied sterile, patent protected, and manufactured under FDA standards. The system was invented by Dr. Sargon Lazarof, who first published the immediate-load concept in 1992.

How do I find a dentist who offers it?

Ultratooth is placed only by Ultratooth Certified Providers. Tell us roughly where you are and we'll point you toward one. If you already have a dentist you trust, they can contact us about becoming certified.
