The System
Ultratooth is a three-part titanium alloy assembly built around one idea: that a surgeon should be able to create primary stability deliberately, verify it in the chair, and restore the tooth the same day.
01 — Mechanism
How the expansion works.
The implant is assembled from an implant body, an expansion screw and an expansion cone, all machined from titanium alloy (Ti6Al4V).

STEP 1
Seat the fixture
The implant is driven to depth in a prepared osteotomy. All Biodent implants are self-tapping; a ratchet may be used where bone resistance indicates.

STEP 2
Engage the expansion screw
A screwdriver enters the channel in the head of the implant and turns the expansion screw clockwise, drawing the expansion cone upward through the apical section.

Expand to 20 N·cm
As the cone rises, the apical legs spread outward against the walls of the site, compacting the surrounding trabecular bone. A torque wrench brings the expansion screw to 20 N·cm — a defined, repeatable endpoint rather than a subjective judgement of "feels solid".

STEP 4
Seal and restore
The screw cap is tightened onto the implant to establish a primary seal against bacterial infiltration. In good bone quality and quantity, a provisional restoration may be placed at the same appointment.

REVERSIBLE
And it can be undone
The same mechanism runs backwards. Reversing the expansion screw releases tension on the legs so a failing implant can be repositioned or retrieved — the full removal protocol, including the partially integrated case, is set out in the Instructions for Use.
02 — Geometry

Two diameters,
three lengths,
one platform.
Standard Ultratooth fixtures have a 3.8 mm body on a 4.1 mm platform. The wide body is 4.8 mm on a 5.0 mm platform. Both carry the same standard platform designation, so prosthetic components and instrumentation run across the range.
Implant lengths are measured from the threaded area and exclude the head portion, which may be placed below bone level. Measuring from the wrong reference risks placing the implant deeper than intended.

No implant–abutment junction
The Ultratooth combines implant and abutment in a single unit. There is no interface to microleak, irritate soft tissue or loosen under function, and no second-stage surgery to expose the fixture. A prep-able extension abutment is available where additional retention is wanted.
Supports the emergence profile
The fixture widens coronally rather than running parallel, which is intended to support the emergence profile of the tooth being replaced — the reason the design is most often discussed in the aesthetic zone, where socket architecture is still intact at placement.
Compaction at expansion
Expansion displaces rather than removes bone at the apex, compacting the surrounding trabeculae as the legs deploy. Biodent cites this compaction as the basis for the system's immediate-load indication in suitable bone.
Greater surface area
Biodent reports the surface area of an Ultratooth as approximately 30% greater than a screw implant of equal size — a manufacturer figure, quoted here as published in the product literature.
04 — Instrumentation
One drill
instead of five.
For sufficiently experienced surgeons, the universal one-step drill replaces the rosette, pilot and guide drill sequence — fewer instrument changes, less chair time, and fewer opportunities to generate heat in the site.
The universal surgical kit carries everything needed to place any Biodent implant, expandable or not, including the torque wrench used to bring the expansion screw to its 20 N·cm endpoint.
